KENNETH Tay

Head Instructor at SHBJJ Suzhou

Rank: Black Belt

From: Singapore

Academy: SHBJJ DEFGROUP SUZHOU

A life long athlete, Kenneth has always believed in the importance of sports and the need to maintain an active lifestyle. As a competitive athlete, he has represented Singapore in Triathlons at the junior elite level. But it was not until he discovered martial arts that he found his true passion. Starting his journey with Muay Thai, Kenneth eventually switched his focus to Brazilian Jiujitsu.

Moving to Suzhou, China, shortly after devoting himself to Martial Arts, he discovered that the city had no Brazilian Jiujitsu Schools at that time. It was then he decided to make frequent trips down to Shanghai to train under the tutelage of Professor Stanley Tam at SHBJJ. To help grow the BJJ community in Suzhou, Kenneth and his business partner founded the city’s first and longest running Brazilian Jiujitsu School, where he serves as Head Instructor.

Kenneth is now a black belt instructor and active competitor under Tony Eduardo and Stanley Tam.
