Chris Mesnard is a former US Navy corpsman, with two tours in Afghanistan attached to Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, from 2009 to 2013. Chris found his love for Jiu Jitsu in 2011, while stationed in Hawaii. Upon leaving the military, he moved to Thailand in 2013, where he began training under professor Tony Eduardo, starting his journey with the NLBJJA as a blue belt.

In 2022, Chris has earned his PhD in Neuroscience from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where he now works as a professor and researcher.
